Let Excel read a Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package through Package Ninja, and create any number of copies with the same layout but with different names and configurations. Any number of changes can automatically be made to each newly minted package!
Specify top-down in a spreadsheet what a package should look like, and make as many of them as you like. All with different configurations! Faster and fewer errors than creating them inside SSIS, easier than programming, less frustrating than XML!
Want to modify 100 .dtsx packages the same way, all at once? Need to extract information from all the packages in a project? Perform search and replace in several packages? Those tasks and many, many more are possible by using Package Ninjas super simple interface from inside Excel. Dynamically change or create packages just the way you need for your own purposes and save loads of time and frustration!
Want to use another modeling tool such as Microsoft Visio, CA ERwin or SAP PowerDesigner to create packages? No problem, Package Ninja will act as a bridge so that you can go straight from data model to packages! This can be an insanely powerful way to speed up your development process.
"By using Package Ninja, we are saving almost 90% of the time spent when creating packages for Microsoft SSIS. No more monkey work!"
"We were able to shorten the development time [in our project] and instead focus more on business impact and the user front-end. Less tedious work for us and more business value to our client. They are as happy as ever!"
It's really easy! You install the Add-on for your Excel version and you are ready to go! Take a look at the samples included and you will be creating useful packages within 30 minutes.
When you submit your e-mail address above, we will mail you a download link as soon as we accept the next group of beta testers. If you would like to receive a beta version sooner than that, please send us an e-mail at info@ninjapackage.com and give us a motivation as to why, and we will consider it. Note: We will not use your e-mail address for any unsolicited mail nor will we share it with anyone else.
The software is currently available as a limited free beta while we finish testing. When the first stable version is released, there will be a free basic version and an enterprise version for which the price is not yet set.
First of all, XML has never been a human-friendly format. It's a pain to read and write even for computers. That said, having packages in a code format is an excellent idea. But instead of using a complex interface with source file and whatnot, why not just use Excel? It is the tool of the trade for working with the business side, and... Everybody knows Excel. Take documents straight from the documentation and make them into packages with the blink of an eye. Why not let the users themselves be a part of creating the BI Solution without having to use anything more technical than Microsoft Office?
We don't. Package Ninja was created to be an agile tool that can save you loads of time in a simple way, not be a complex development environment or a programming IDE for experts. We want Package Ninja to be simple and powerful. Not complicated and bloated. Also, did we mention that a single license for Varigence MIST costs $4000 and the other alternatives even more?
Package Ninja currently supports Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014. We have also modified and tested the code with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, but this is currently not officially supported. You also need Microsoft Excel® 2010 or Excel® 2013 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are supported).
Don't hesitate to mail us with any and all questions at info@ninjapackage.com. Good and bad ideas, and positive or negativ feedback is always welcome!
